February, A Good Month!

It's my 2 year Blogaversary! I thought it was in February but wasn't 100% till I looked it up! That went by fast.

February is also the love of my lifes birthday month, the day after Valentine's Day. February is also my father's birthday and my brothers! Great men must be born in February, huh?

I have a new addition to my lamb collection. Meet Lamby (should have been lambchop but I couldn't think of that name for anything!)I took my oldest granddaughter shopping for her birthday and she had a gift card for Build a Bear and she was sitting right at the door, and she's a limited edition and I couldn't resist!

Lamby is modeling what I've gotten done so far on the Dale of Norway Cardigan I'm working on. I'm loving it!

Here is Lamby with the socks I did this week along with I'm Knitting As Fast As I Can
There are definitely lots more of these in the future. It was a fast, fun, relaxing knit. And, they also were made with Cabin Cove Yarn so I guess they can go in the Gallery at some point (when I figure out where that was.)And, I finished thisI started these for my son about 2 years ago! They're made with Plmouth Encore Worsted and still are taking forever but the kids got a size 14 shoe and very wide. So, about 2 more years and he might have a pair.

I'm hoping I figured out the problem with leaving comments. If not, I'm reading them all, just can't tell you.

Comments and Dale of Norway

I wanted to pop in here and let everyone know, I'm reading your blogs I just can't seem to leave a comment for some reason. So, don't think I'm not reading them. I'm trying to figure it out so don't disown me yet.

This is the sweater I'm working on. This picture was taken in Norway at Disneyworld last week on our vacation and I couldn't believe my eyes. These are actual Dale of Norway sweaters. I bought the same patterns a few weeks before our trip. When BTB saw these he wanted to know why I didn't make one. Told him I had the pattern, just had to get the yarn. The yarn was ordered as soon as we got back home. When mine is finished guess who wants one? I'm doing mine in white with the black contrast. After seeing the price on these in the picture, it makes me very happy that I'm a knitter! The buttons I ordered are even the exact same ones on these in Norway/Disney. I'm loving it but I'm not too sure about the charts. It's not lining up quite right, no matter how many times I redo it, but it's loads of fun watching the patterns take shape. I'll show pictures of mine soon.

Roses, Candy and Knitting

Welcome back to the Scrappy Knitter! I've been hibernating so haven't blogged in forever!

Happy Valentine's Day! Did you get one of these? I found this one in my cocoa mug this morning when I went into the kitchen and, I found this one........along with the bag of "Love Hearts" next to my computer in the sunroom. Yup, I'm loved!

I've been knitting. I started a Norwegian sweater that has been kicking my backside so for easy knitting I started the sock tutorial at I'm Knitting As Fast As I Can. I love making socks with big needles and big sock yarn. I've got all this done already and just started yesterday morning! Oops , that's a blurry picture.I've also finished my Chinese Vest from Folk Vests but still have to do the button band and armholes. I don't enjoy this part of knitting so I take forever to do this little stuff. I think I've decided I like a challenging knit and ribbing or seed stitch isn't real challenging, just needed to wear the thing! Here's a picture of it when it was still in progressIt's a dark picture but you can see the pattern, which I love. This was great knitting for the trip to Key West, I didn't have to think too much.

I will leave you for now with a picture of a Key West Sunrise! That was a sad day, I loved it down there and we left early enough to see the sun coming up while crossing the 7 mile bridge. And, we headed to Kissimmee for 3 days and you all know what happened just a few miles from there that week and we slept thru the whole thing!

I'll try not to wait so long for the next post and will have pictures of my Norwegian sweater for you.
